Why is the Goodbyn lunchbox made out of plastic? Is it safe?
The Goodbyn lunchbox is made out of plastic to keep your lunch safe, sealed, and unharmed in its journey to work or school. The hard plastic shell ensures that even food returning from school or work will come back in one piece! We use virgin plastics to comply with the FDA for food contact and children's safety requirements (most post-consumer recycled plastics are not FDA approved). In the future, we hope to use 100% recycled plastic as our base material for all of our products, and are working hard at finding a single-source plastics recycler to do just that!
Your Goodbyn lunchbox is made from recyclable food-safe plastics: #5 polypropylene (lunchbox and bottle lid) and #2 high-density polyethylene (bottle). They are approved by the FDA, are the most benign of all plastics on the market, and are lead, BPA and phthalate-free.The Goodbyn lunchbox also meets CPSIA testing standards:

What are the dimensions of Goodbyn lunchbox and its compartments?
The Goodbyn Original lunchbox has been designed to slide comfortably into any standard size backpack, as well as cubby holes at school. The overall lunchbox dimensions are 330 x 216 x 76 mm.
Here's some approximate dimensions and volumes of the individual compartments and the bottle (length/width/depth):
large top "head": 190.5 x 89 x 63.5 mm; 650ml
bottle compartment: 140 x 50 x 63.5 mm; 300ml (up to divider)

What are the best ways to pack a Goodbyn? How do I pack a sandwich?
The Goodbyn is ideal for sandwiches, leftovers, fruits, veggies, snacks and treats. The drink bottle is excellent for liquids like milk, water, juice or even salad dressing or a smoothie. The Goodbyn seals tightly, but we do not suggest placing thin liquids in the larger compartments. We’ve specially designed the center lower compartment of the Goodbyn lunchbox to fit any whole sandwich cut and stacked.
Why is the Goodbyn lunchbox larger than most other lunchboxes?
The volume of the Goodbyn lunchbox is no larger than typical lunchboxes, and Goodbyns allow for whole fruit and whole sandwiches to fit inside. The Goodbyn lunchbox has been designed to ease the lunch-packing process and accommodate a variety of diets.
Can I wash the Goodbyn lunchbox in the dishwasher? What about the stickers?
Yes. Goodbyn lunchbox is top-drawer dishwasher-safe (140°F). Yes, The stickers are specially engineered by Goodbyn to also be top-drawer dishwasher-safe. The stickers are made of (#5) polypropylene, and you can use them on any dishwasher-safe item!
Can I freeze the Goodbyn lunchbox? How can I keep my Goodbyn lunchbox cold?
Yes, the Goodbyn lunchbox is freezer-safe. We recommend making your lunch the night before and putting it in the fridge overnight to keep it cool on its way to school. You can also utilize a coldpack in the two larger compartments if you like.
Can I put soups in my Goodbyn lunchbox? Is the Goodbyn lunchbox microwaveable?
No. While the Goodbyn does a good job of transporting left-overs, hummus, dip and thick sauces, we don't recommend sending soups in it, it might seep out.
Where does my Goodbyn lunchbox come from?
We are proud to tell you Goodbyn lunchboxes are made in the USA. The Goodbyn lunchbox originated in both Seattle and Chicago, born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and is packaged and distributed from Grand Haven, Michigan.
What age is the Goodbyn lunchbox intended for?
Goodbyn lunchboxes are great for all ages! We originally set out to design a lunchbox for grades K-4, but anyone can most certainly carry a Goodbyn! We developed the opening and closing pressures to appropriate for ages 5 and up.
Can I replace the Goodbyn lunchbox’s drink bottle?
We will be selling individual drink bottles soon!
Can I order more stickers?
New sticker sets are currently in development! If you have a good idea for new sticker sets, please share them with us, and maybe we will produce them!
Can I replace the lid/bottom without buying a whole new Goodbyn lunchbox?
Unfortunately, the Goodbyn lunchbox is sold as a complete set. Take advantage and mix and match your favorite colors!

What do I do with the Goodbyn lunchbox after I am through with it?
If you wish to part with your Goodbyn lunchbox for any reason, you’ll be happy to hear that your Goodbyn lunchbox is completely recyclable. All of the pieces are made of #5 polypropylene and #2 high-density polyethylene, and can be placed in your regular recycling container.
